  1. Noah, it sounds like you have come a long way since the beginning of your project, especially in realizing what you can and cannot do within the timeframe that we have to work in (don’t take that in a negative way; what I mean is that you have learned about the complexity of magic). I think that this is a really good sign that you are learning about how complicated certain tricks are, and therefore focusing your energy on more feasible tricks. I cannot wait to learn about the magic that you will be performing, and I am excited to see your final product (a magic show, I believe). Because you talked about how complicated some tricks can be, I think it would be interesting for you to, rather than actually demonstrating them, explain what makes them so tricky to master.

  2. This is an awesome and creative project and I can see where you come into the problems with being able to do the tricks because some of them really come from years of practice and a real depth in skill. It is like if you look at people who do the three cups one ball or three cards one is red. The concept is so simple and the cheats they use are so basic that you would think that they are easy, but once they work into practice they never come out as perfectly as a true hustler doing them because they are professionals at what they do. Two more comments that I have for you are that I agree completely with the youtube aspect because physically seeing how to do something is so much better than trying to do it with basic instructions. Also, I found it funny when you said sometimes you turn on the TV and see magicians because I have no idea what channels you are watching. It did bring back a memory I had though of when I was in Italy I saw a show that was a circus clown running around doing all of the classic clown jokes. Now I didn't understand it because it was all in Italian, but I feel like this is the type of show that would have a legitimate magician. (I just thought of Chris Angel at the end, I was thinking more classic magicians.)

  3. Noah, this video is very good. It does not sound scripted, rather original which adds to the effect. I do the same thing when I see magic tricks. I love magic tricks solely because I know magic isn't real and it blows my mind making me think how they are doing that. As the old saying goes "curiosity kills the cat." Everyone wants to know how magicians do their tricks so they surf the web for an answer. The same thing goes with my project how visual aids are easier to follow than articles. I have a few trick decks myself and I have crafted the tricks to fit my style so I can as you say it "sell it." The quirkiness in every magician makes the trick more special. Noah, I recommend you just keep practicing. It seems like you learned the technique and style necessary but you aren't as smooth as some of the more advanced magicians. Keep on working and I think your final product will be great.

  4. Noah, you have a good understanding of what it takes to be successful in the magic business. Hard work and dedication are a necessary part of the process to becoming a "master". As far as resources go, I use youtube a lot as well. Trick shots have been a trend on youtube, so watching the best in action and learning what they do has really helped me along the path to creating my own montage. So I can imagine that youtube has done the same for you, watching good magicians perform tricks and also watching tutorials. I really like this project and hope that you reach your goal.
